Why scheduling beats posting manually

Manual posting ties your reach to your availability. If your audience is most active at 8pm but you are asleep, offline, or simply busy, the post either goes out late or not at all. Scheduling decouples when you create from when you publish, so a single focused session can cover a whole week.

It also removes the small errors that creep in when you post in a hurry — the wrong caption, a missing hashtag set, or forgetting the first comment. When everything is prepared in advance, each post ships exactly the way you planned it.

Personal vs. professional accounts

Instagram only allows third-party tools to publish on your behalf when you use a Business or Creator (professional) account. This is an Instagram platform rule, not a Multipost limitation. Switching is free, reversible, and takes under a minute in the app.

• Business account: best for brands, shops, and agencies managing client work.
• Creator account: best for individual creators, influencers, and public figures.
• Personal account: cannot use the publishing API — you would still post by hand.

What you can and cannot automate

   Convert to a professional account

   In the Instagram app, open Settings → Account type and switch to a Business or Creator account. Automated publishing through the Instagram API is only available for professional accounts, not personal ones.

   Sign in with the official Instagram login and authorize the content-publishing permission. Multipost never sees or stores your Instagram password — authorization happens on Instagram's own consent screen.

   Upload media and write your caption

   Add a photo, carousel, or reel, write the caption, add a first comment, and tag the professional account you want to publish from. Multipost validates the media against Instagram's format rules before it is queued.

   Drop the post onto the calendar at the time you want it to go live. You can queue days or weeks of content in one sitting.

   Let it auto-publish
